ZVOX Mini

$200.00 Released January, 2006

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Affordable price. Small and compact compared to a larger multi-part setup. Minimalistic in style/design.

The Cons:Smaller speakers mean less range and power. Cannot compete with a real 5.1 surround sound setup. No digital inputs.

The ZVOX Mini is an ultra-compact single-cabinet surround sound audio system that falls at the bottom end of those offered by ZVOX. This device uses the same technology as the larger systems offered by ZVOX, but uses smaller speakers than those used in the ZVOX 315 and ZVOX 325.

Product Shot 2  This is the smallest system in the lineup coming in at 13" wide, 10" deep and 3.3" high, making it easy to fit in any space and very transportable.  With the optional rechargeable battery, it can even be taken to the beach or camping, with optional PortaParty padded carrybag. The ZNOX mini uses PhaseCue circuitry to vary the phase of the sound produced to give the illusion of a very wide sound stage, even from behind you where there are no speakers. Although it is not a complete replacement for a full 5.1 surround system, it is much more affordable and simple to setup. There are three 2.5" main drivers, 40 watt amplifier and a 4" x 6" subwoofer all contained withing the unit, but there is an output for optional external subwoofer. The speakers use ferrofluid and neodymium magnets for improved sound quality and dispersion, and the cabinet is made of MDF (medium density fiberboard), the same material uses in most high-end loudspeakers. The ZVOX Mini is made to be as easy to use and setup as possible. Once plugged in, it will automatically turn on after the audio source is powered up, and return to idle mode once the source has been turned off.  If the TV being used has a "variable" output audio jacks, the TV remote can be used to control the TV/325 volume.  However, the device can also be controlled using the front panel volume control or supplied remote control. There are two mini-jack 3.5 mm inputs which are auto mixed.  There is a 3.5mm/3.5mm cable and 3.5mm/RCA cable included.
