Although it is not a complete replacement for a full 5.1 surround system, it is much more affordable and simple to setup. There are three 3.25" main drivers, 60 watt amplifier and a 5.25" subwoofer all contained within the unit, but there is an output for optional external subwoofer. The speakers use powerful Neodymium models and solid metal phase plugs for improved sound quality and dispersion, and the cabinet is made of MDF (medium density fiberboard), the same material uses in most high-end loudspeakers. The ZVOX 325 is made to be as easy to use and setup as possible. Once plugged in, it will automatically turn on after the audio source is powered up, and return to idle mode once the source has been turned off. If the TV being used has a "variable" output audio jacks, the TV remote can be used to control the TV/325 volume. However, the device can also be controlled using the front panel volume control or supplied remote, which is not included with the ZVOX 315 model. There are two rear "mixing" 3.5mm input jacks which will automatically mix two deviced if plugged in at the same time. The front 3.5mm input jack will mute the rear inputs for use with a portable MP3 player. There is a 3.5mm/3.5mm cable and 3.5mm/RCA cable included.
