Whirlpool GI5FSAXV

$2,249.00 Released April, 2007

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Shelves are very sturdy. Large door shelves can hold larger, Costco-size mayo bottles. Built-in humidifier handles sweating around the door seals very well with no noticeable increase in energy use.

The Cons:Liquids in the fridge compartment often freeze. Doesn't come included with a butter door--needs to be purchased separately. More often than not, both doors need to be opened to get to anything.

The Whirlpool GI5FSAXV is a 24.9 cu. ft. (6.6 freezer, 18.3 refrigerator) capacity freezer-on-bottom Energy Star® Qualified refrigerator that features an AccuChill temperature management system that provides accurate temperature control with foam-in-place doors and double tub construction in both the refrigerator and the freezer compartments.

Cited as Whirlpool’s top freezer-on-bottom refrigerator, the GI5FSAXV also sports a PuR® 6-Month Water Filtration system that reduces unwanted impurities from household water, a pull-out freezer drawer for quick and easy organization of frozen foods, adjustable gallon door bins that are easily customizable and movable, no-slip blue door bin mats for keeping items stored in an upright position, and SpillGuard glass shelves that prevent spills from leaking onto shelves below. In addition, the GI5FSAXV comes equipped with clear humidity-controlled crispers that help preserve the freshness of fruits and vegetables, and an Adaptive Defrost System (ADS) that monitors the compressor run-time and the on-time of the evaporator heater. The GI5FSAXV also boasts a hanging deli drawer, a can caddy, a wire can rack, and condiment bins. The Whirlpool GI5FSAXV retails for a whopping $2249.00 in white and comes with a 1 year limited warranty. Although expensive, do keep in mind that according to Whirlpool, the GI5FSAXV consumes less energy than a 75-watt light bulb.
