Nail coloring has been a constant in the beauty department over the last 5,000 years, but hasn't really changed much since the inception of the first modern nail lacquer in 1920. Lancôme's mission to change that comes out this Fall as a fusion of fashion and basic science.

The Magnetique nail polish not only coats your nails with a deep bordeaux color, but also creates a starburst pattern directly on your nail without any artistic skill needed. After coating your nails twice you take the nail polish bottle, which includes a small magnet on the side, and sweep the magnet across your still-wet nails. The polish is infused with iron particles which react with the magnet. The result is a relatively uniform starburst pattern that looks like a great deal of artistry was put into its creation. Note: Le Magnetique is a limited edition polish that only comes one color - Bordeaux Esmee and a 5.5 mL bottle.
