Index Chopping Boards

$75.00 Released January, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Organize your chopping boards by food type. Space saver for storing cutting boards. Stylish.

The Cons:Expensive. Housing unit should be stainless steel instead of plastic. The pre-labeled boards are too specific - don't need one specifically for fish.

Index chopping boards were designed by Damian Evans and can solve any food contamination issues you might have. The idea is that each chopping board is used with specific foods. To help you remember, the chopping boards' colors try to be reminiscent of the food: red - meat, white - cooked foods, blue - fish, and green - vegetables.

The product would be much much more expensive with a stainless steel housing. Material prices are increasing rapidly in China

Howlsthunder: #index_chopping_boards I often housesit for someone who has multiple wooden cutting boards, each for a different use (onions, garlic, meat, veggies, etc). They are not part of a set and so stack haphazardly. It can also be difficult to tell which board is for what short of sniffing the wood and trying to decypher long-faded marker labels.

However, there's nothing worse than biting into an apple that you accidentally cut on the onion board. That said, these seem like a great idea - the space saving as well as the pre-labled/colored construction. I wouldn't mind having a set of these in my own kitchen. :) May 27, 08
