#aleutia_e1 Yikes, that is a tad pricey even with the options considered.. The Compulab fit-PC is much better deal but the only problem is that the Compulab has an operating temperature of (0-70 deg C) which isnt going to work here in Toronto during the November to March months...

#aleutia_e1 Unfortunately I used inaccurate information for the price from the site I learned about this product from, the basic kit is ?179 which is about $360, but the Office-in-a-FedEx-box goes for ?499 which is nearly $1010... So it is not quite as good a deal as I made it look at first.

#aleutia_e1 It seems pretty expensive for a computer with a 200 MHz CPU, but once you start looking at what you get, it's a pretty good deal. It includes everything you need to start your "off-the-grid" computing campaign including a solar panel and an 8" monitor.
@Whipdaddy: Good point about the auto-computer. You may also want to consider something like the
Compulab fit-PC that is a similar size, but with more power at a cheaper price (500 MHz CPU, $280). It doesn't include any of the peripherals this does, however.
